Мэттью Купфер – журналист-расследователь, редактор. Окончил университет Брeндайса с отличием по специальностям “Международные отношения и глобальные исследования” и “Антропология”, а затем получил степень магистра в Гарвардском университете. Работал в англоязычных изданиях в России и Украине, в том числе The Moscow Times, Hromadske International, The Odessa Review и The Kyiv Post. Работал редактором новостей газеты The Kyiv Post и редактором по Центральной Азии Центра по исследованию коррупции и организованной преступности (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, OCCRP). В США работал в газете The San Francisco Standard, где в одной из статей раскрыл инвестиции российских олигархов в стартапы города Сан-Франциско, а также расследовал махинации на кризисном калифорнийском рынке страхования. С 2023 года работает в Русской службе «Голоса Америки».
Biography
Matthew Kupfer is an investigative journalist and editor. He graduated from Brandeis University with honors in International Relations, Global Studies, and Anthropology and then obtained a master's degree from Harvard University. He has worked for English-language periodicals in Russia and Ukraine, including The Moscow Times, Hromadske International, The Odessa Review, and The Kyiv Post. He served as the news editor of The Kyiv Post and as the Central Asia editor for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP). In the United States, he worked for The San Francisco Standard, where he exposed investments by Russian oligarchs in San Francisco startups in one article and investigated manipulations in the crisis-ridden California insurance market. Since 2023, he has worked at the Russian Service of Voice of America.
